Lessons from a Dog-My Rhodesian Ridgeback

By KCC Big Country

I am on a number of email lists and sometimes things grab my attention from one of them.

Today, I'd like to share a portion of an email I received from Tom Murasso from Born to Manifest. The email included a story about a dog and upon reflection, he realized that there is a lot we could learn from dogs.

  • When those you love come home, always meet them at the door and let them know you're glad to see them.
  • Never pass up the opportunity to go for a ride just for the fun of it.
  • Enjoy the fresh air and the wind in your face
  • Take naps when you can
  • Stretch before rising
  • Run, play, and romp daily.
  • Thrive on the attention from others and let people touch you.
  • Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
  • On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
  • On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
  • When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
  • Enjoy the simplicity of a long walk.
  • Be loyal.
  • Never pretend to be something or someone that you're not.
  • If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
  • When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle up to them gently.

Beautiful dog! loved the video, too -- gorgeous! I try to be more like my dog (except for the farting in public bit) (sorry).

I do like RRs, but their breeding scares the hell out of me. They are prone to so many nasty ailments from concentrated in-breeding.

In fact, I'd never have a pedigree dog of any kind, for the same reason.

Thanks parkerk393 and LondonGirl for stopping by! Glad you enjoyed it parkerk393 and it made you smile. I know what you mean LG....but I haven't had any issues with either of mine. Our first one was 13 when he died. This one is now 6. Our first one was much more active than this one, but still a great dog.

It's funny you should say that, Rongould.....because I never have really considered myself a pet-lover. But, I do love Toby. Thanks for stopping by.
